Parking

If you stay for a just few nights you can park in the "blue" parking spots (marked yellow on the map) but you require a blue parking disc (see picture). Set the time on the disk clock to the nearest forthcoming half-hour mark and you have 60 minutes of parking after this set time. For example, if you arrive at 09:23, you set the clock for 09:30 and you can park until 10:30. Between 17:31-19:00, you can set the disk for the next half hour and park until 8 AM on the next day. Between 19:00-08:00, if you leave by 8 AM, you don't need to display the disc.
Parking discs can be bought at any gas station, police station, or car accessories shop.
On Sunday and public holidays: From Saturday 7 PM until Monday 8 AM parking in the blue zone is free.
If you stay for a longer time we suggest you buy a daily ticket (Tagesbewilligung) for the "blue parking" (located in yellow on the map) on the following website:
Online-Shop Dienstabteilung Verkehr (stadt-zuerich.ch).
YOU WILL THEN NEED TO PRINT IT AND PUT IT ON DISPLAY IN THE CAR. PLEASE NOTE, THAT THERE IS NO PRINTER AT THE FLAT, SO YOU WILL HAVE TO PRINT THE PAPER BEFORE YOU ARRIVE AT THE FLAT.
The cost is 15.- CHF per day.

Laundry

Proceed to the basement, which can be found on floor -1.

When you reach the bottom of the stairs, go to the right. It's the first door on the right.
There is a washer and a dryer you can use.
Please leave the laundry
room clean.
Happy washing!
There is also a drying room you can use.
Waste disposal and recycling
The trash container is located in front of the house and it's the GREY one (or dark grey, see picture below).
In Zürich, it is required to purchase official bin bags. You will find some in the apartment (they are blue or white). If you stay for a longer time, you can purchase them in all supermarkets (they are usually not out on the shelves so make sure to ask at the cashier's desk for "Gebührensäcke").
These bags are NOT for recyclables. PET bottles, glass, carton, paper, aluminum cans, batteries, and other toxic waste are disposed of separately from household garbage.

Recycling
Glass and aluminum need to be separated and then deposited at local recycling points.
The closest recycling point to the flat is at Dachslernstrasse 20, 8048 Zürich (5 min walking from the apartment)
Plastic bottles (PET) can be dropped off in the large containers in front or inside of supermarkets (Coop).
Cardboard and paper are picked up for free in front of your house on Thursday every two weeks (see exact dates here). Cardboard and paper must be folded correctly:
