Parking
Please note that we don’t have parking spots at the flat and as the flat is located in the city of Zurich, arriving by public transportation is the better and easier option.
If you stay just 1-2 days you can also park at the parking at Forellenweg 9, 8038 Zürich. The maximum you can park there is 48 Hours and it costs .-50 cents per hour. It is 3 min bei car away from the apartment (12 minutes walking distance).
If you stay longer you can park on the "blue" parking spaces in the area. In order to do so you have to buy a daily ticket (Tagesbewilligung) on the following website:
Online-Shop Dienstabteilung Verkehr (stadt-zuerich.ch). YOU WILL THEN NEED TO PRINT IT AND PUT IT INTO THE CAR. PLEASE NOTE, THAT THERE IS NO PRINTER AT THE FLAT, SO YOU WILL HAVE TO PRINT THE PAPER BEFORE YOU ARRIVE AT THE FLAT.
The cost is 15.- CHF per day.

There are also parking spots marked in white on the floor. Their locations change, so we can’t tell you the exact locations. In case you find those, the ticket for staying there can be bought online on the “Parkingpay” app(www.parkingpay.ch).

Laundry
Like very commonly in Switzerland, the laundry room is located in the basement of the building.
Go to the basement. There you will find on the left the washing machine and straight the dryer room.
write your name on the day and time you want to wash to reserve your spot. Before washing, make sure the switch (see picture) is on 1
Open the washing machine door. On the left you can insert the soap. Insert your clothes, close the door and chose the program:
If you need the dryer you will find it next to the washing machine:
Once you finish please turn the electricity off (the power switch must be back on 0).
Please leave the room exactly as you found it and don’t leave any of your belongings there.
Recycling and waste disposal
Garbage Disposal
In Zürich it is required to purchase official bin bags to dispose of your household trash. You will find some in the apartment (they are blue or white). If you stay for a longer time or you use more than the ones provided, you can be purchased them in all supermarkets (they are usually not out on the shelves so make sure to ask at the cashier's desk for "Zürisack").
These bags are NOT for recyclables. Compost, PET bottles, glass, carton, paper, aluminium cans, batteries and other toxic waste are disposed of separately to household garbage.
Full bin bags are not picked up from the street. They must be placed in designated neighbourhood containers.
If the garbage is not disposed correctly, it will not be picked up and you will receive a fine of 300.- CHF!!

Compost can be put in the green container in front of the house. Please make sure not to put any non-compostable material in there!
Glass and aluminium need to be separated and then deposited at local recycling points.

Plastic PET bottles can be dropped off at the large containers in front or inside of supermarkets (Migros or Coop).
Cardboard are picked up for free in front of your house every two weeks.
